Join us every Tuesday until August 29 from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Pump House for a drop-in, Tot inspired, learning hour. Start off by singing a welcome song and then move on to an activity focused on your tots development. Each week we have a different theme that will keep them entertained and learning. This drop in session is FREE with admission to the museum.   A different focus every week Hands On, Minds On: Actvities that engage tots mentally and physically. Focus is on developing fine and gross motor skills as well as developing the foundation for other skill development, such as cause and effect or problem solving. Mess is Best: Sensory based activities that use messy play to develop the senses. There is also a focus on developing early writing skills. Shake Your Music Maker: Activities that use sound, music, and dance to develop auditory skills, such as auditory discrimination and rhythm. Dress to Express: Activities that engage tots in creative & imagintive play.

Fort Night

Have you ever wanted to relive your youth?  Come on down to the PumpHouse at 6 p.m. every Thursday for Fort Night. This is not your every day fort building with blankets and chairs.  Every week there will be a new challenge. We provide all the items that you will need to finish the challenge but not the directions.  You can either do the challenge alone, with friends, join another team but whatever you preference you will be going head to head with other groups to see who’s fort best accomplished the challenge. We have programmers on site to help you if you get stuck and no challenges are timed.   Fort Night is fun for all ages and everyone is welcome. You’ll have to come the museum to get your official challenge but here is a sneak peak at the challenges that we have in mind: String It Up Table Forts Newspaper Forts Cardboard Box Forts Fan Fort Light it Bright PVC Piping Tunnels A Frame Fort Hoop Forts To round the whole season up we have talked about a huge fort building party where everyone works on one fort.  Details are to come but we can promise you this will…

FREE nights are Back

Come explore all the museum has to offer.  Back by popular demand – Late nights, free nights.  Tonight is the first nights that the museum stays open until 8 p.m.  Admission is free from 5 to 8 p.m. every Thursday evening until August 31.
